Students will be held to high expectations! Please understand that at-home reading is expected and is a component of our class. Students will be held accountable for at-home reading by various methods.

Class Materials / Supply List
In order to be successful in English/Language Arts, students should have the following materials and bring them to class every day:
- Spiral notebook
- Student Agenda
- Pocket Folder to easily hold daily Do Now's and classwork due on Friday's of each week
- Pen & Sharpened Pencils
- Glue or Tape
- Stapler
- Markers

CMS 2015-16 Grading Policy
A= 90-100
B= 80-89
C= 70-79
D= 60-69
F= < 59
There are two categories of grades: Formal assessments include a variety of assignments such as classroom tests, comprehensive writing assignments, projects and etc. Informal assessments include classwork, daily homework, Do Nows, notebook checks, quizzes, group work, class participation and etc. The weights are listed below:
Formal: 65% Informal: 35%
